Machine Learning/AI Applications
As part of the Department of Biomedical Informatics, CHI works closely with the CCHMC dAIn (design, Analysis, and Integration) group of AI-trained data scientists who use methods in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing that can be applied to clinical records as well as imaging, molecular, continuous monitoring, voice, environmental, and other data types. The resulting algorithms can be tested and implemented in clinical or research settings. Recent projects have included faster and more reliable methods for participant recruitment, precision dosing, predisposition to school violence and adverse psychiatric behavior, drug repurposing, and clinic appointment scheduling.
